The Mass in B minor by J. S. Bach transcends categories: neither religious nor profane, it is full of fervor and emotion; neither Lutheran nor Catholic, it is both, therefore transcending the very principle of ecumenism. A monumental piece of music at Notre-Dame de Paris. Performing this piece in the cathedral with the Ensemble Orchestral de Paris was a dream of the conductor John Nelson.
