Description:
While most of us take the EMS for granted, without the foresight of those driven by the horrors of war we would not have these modern ambulances racing to our doors. The modern ambulance gets it start when a surgeon in Napoleon's army witnesses the suffering of wounded soldiers left on the battlefield. He calls his invention the Ambulance Volante or Flying Ambulance and the rest is history.
